Refund Overview

At MailSentinel, we want you to be completely satisfied with our service. We understand that sometimes a product may not meet your needs, and we respect that. Our refund policy is designed to be fair, transparent, and customer-friendly.

30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

Eligibility

If you're a new customer and you're not satisfied with MailSentinel for any reason, you can request a full refund within 30 days of your initial purchase. This applies to:

  • First-time subscribers (monthly or annual plans)
  • Upgrades from Free to paid plans
  • New business accounts

How to Request

  • Email us at support@mailsentinel.io with "Refund Request" in the subject line
  • Include your account email and reason for refund (optional)
  • We'll process your refund within 5-7 business days

No Questions Asked

We don't require justification for refund requests within the 30-day period. While we appreciate feedback to help us improve, it's entirely optional.

Annual Subscription Refunds

Within 60 Days

For annual subscriptions, you may request a pro-rated refund within 60 days of purchase. The refund will be calculated as:

Refund = Annual Fee - (Monthly Rate × Months Used)

For example, if you paid $240/year and cancel after 2 months, you would receive: $240 - ($29 × 2) = $182 refund

After 60 Days

After 60 days, annual subscriptions are non-refundable but you will retain access to the service until the end of your billing period. You can cancel auto-renewal at any time.

Monthly Subscription Refunds

Current Billing Period

Monthly subscriptions can be refunded within the first 30 days. After 30 days:

  • You may cancel at any time to prevent future charges
  • You retain access until the end of your current billing period
  • No partial refunds for unused portions of the current month

Renewal Charges

If you forgot to cancel and were charged for a renewal, contact us within 7 days of the charge for a full refund of the renewal amount.

Plan Changes

Upgrades

When you upgrade to a higher plan, you'll be charged the pro-rated difference immediately. If you're not satisfied with the upgrade, you can:

  • Downgrade within 14 days for a full refund of the upgrade cost
  • Continue on the higher plan

Downgrades

Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle. No refunds are issued for downgrades, but you retain higher-tier access until the next billing date.

Refund Exceptions

Refunds may not be available in the following situations:

  • Account Termination for Violations: Accounts terminated due to Terms of Service violations are not eligible for refunds.
  • Repeated Refund Requests: Multiple accounts created to exploit the refund policy may be denied.
  • Third-Party Purchases: Subscriptions purchased through third-party resellers are subject to their refund policies.
  • Custom Enterprise Agreements: Enterprise customers should refer to their specific contract terms.

Refund Processing

Timeline

  • Request Review: Within 2 business days
  • Refund Processing: 3-5 business days after approval
  • Bank Processing: Additional 5-10 business days (varies by bank)

Refund Method

Refunds are issued to the original payment method:

  • Credit/Debit Cards: Refund to the original card
  • PayPal: Refund to PayPal account
  • Wire Transfer: Same bank account or check (enterprise only)

How to Cancel Your Subscription

You can cancel your subscription at any time through one of these methods:

  • Self-Service: Go to Settings → Billing → Cancel Subscription
  • Email: Send a cancellation request to support@mailsentinel.io
  • Support: Contact our support team through the in-app chat

Upon cancellation, your account will remain active until the end of your current billing period. All your data will be retained for 30 days after cancellation in case you wish to reactivate.

Your Data After Cancellation

  • 30-Day Retention: Your data is retained for 30 days after cancellation
  • Data Export: You can export your data before or during the retention period
  • Reactivation: If you reactivate within 30 days, your data will be restored
  • Permanent Deletion: After 30 days, data is permanently deleted unless legally required to retain

Free Tier

The Free Tier is always free with no payment required. If you downgrade from a paid plan to Free, you retain Free Tier access indefinitely. Free Tier accounts inactive for 12 months may be deleted after notice.

Special Circumstances

We understand that life happens. We may provide extended refund periods or exceptions for:

  • Medical emergencies
  • Business closures
  • Significant service outages caused by us
  • Technical issues preventing service usage
  • Billing errors on our part

Billing Disputes

Before disputing a charge with your bank or credit card company, please contact us first. We're committed to resolving any billing issues quickly and fairly.

Chargebacks initiated without first contacting us may result in account suspension. We will work with you to resolve any legitimate billing concerns.
